Supporting the work of missionaries and missions organizations is a top priority at James River Assembly. Below you can find our upcoming trips that you can be a part of by praying, giving, or going!
James River iMPACT Mission has added a trip to Guatemala, November 19th-29th. We will be working with Helps International out of Addison, TX and they also have an office in Guatemala City. We will provide home makeovers that include a concrete floor, whitewash walls, installation of a wood burning (efficient) cook stove and a water purification system for each home. A portion of each mission trip participant's fund provides for one home makeover. We will be assisting an Assembly of God associate pastor from Cotzal and provide and participate in Vacation Bible school for 200 or more children for 3 days. As well, we will be doing at least one evangelistic outreach in the community in the form of showing the Jesus Film or some similar film at night, outside if weather permits. This is usually attended by several hundred people. The plan of Salvation is explained at the end of the film.
iMPACT is working on the calendar for 2011. We have several exciting new trips we will be adding to our calendar next year. One of which will be partnering with Visiting Orphans on a 10-day trip to Ethiopia on February 17th-26th.
iMPACT is excited to announce that we have started a new scholarship program. If you would like to assist someone going on a mission's trip we have a fund available. If you would like more information regarding this you can email Ali Lamb at ali.lamb@jamesriver.org or call the church office.
