Life Groups are a great opportunity for people to experience life together in a small group setting. Life Groups meet in host homes on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday nights and are a great way to meet new friends and grow in your relationship with God.
Life Groups are small groups that meet bi-weekly in host homes for the purpose of building relationships, biblical discussion, and prayer. Groups are available for adults of all ages, stages of life, and spiritual maturity, and they are generally organized by age and geographical location.
Life Groups are comprised of the same 5-7 couples or 8-12 individuals who meet consistently over an 18-month period of time. Since people are encouraged not to group-hop, this allows the group to go beyond surface relationships to develop intimate relationships with other believers.
Life Groups allow believers to grow closer to one another. By developing friendships with others at James River Assembly, group members will begin to strengthen one another in their relationship with God. Hence, participating in Life Groups not only unites people together but also fosters spiritual growth.
There are four ways to join a Life Group:
1. Start a new group by becoming a Life Group leader. Click "Lead a Group" on this page and a member of our team will contact you with more information.
2. Through a personal invitation from a Life Group leader who is starting a new group and/or is seeking to add to an existing group.
3. At a Group Link event. Group Link is a periodic event where people of similar age and geographical location connect with one another. Both new leaders and those whose groups have multiplied are afforded the opportunity to connect with new individuals for the purpose of forming new Life Groups.
4. Find a group online. Click the "Find a Group" button on this page to search for groups that currently have space in their group for additional members.

Many people feel like their life leads them from one path to the next with no certainty. Is this the right job? Is he or she “the one?” Is now the time to have kids? What do I do now? Am I even on the right path? In these four video sessions, viewers will experience cinematic short videos that show Abraham living in the 21st century. What might he think and feel with the incredible steps of faith God asked him to take? After each short video, Mark Batterson will teach on the Biblical principles from Abraham’s story that apply to us today.

It’s crazy, if you think about it. The God of the universe – the creator of nitrogen and pine needles, galaxies and E-minor – loves us with a radical, unconditional, self-sacrificing love. And what is our typical response? We go to church, sing songs, and try not to cuss. God is calling you to a passionate love relationship with Himself. Because the answer to religious complacency isn’t working harder at a list of do’s and don’ts – it’s falling in love with God.

Parents face many challenges when it comes to raising godly children. With the influence of media and the pressure from peers, many children stray away from the Lord in their teen and college years. Fortunately, Scripture provides guidance for parents as to how they can raise their kids to honor the Lord. This six session series observes the role parents have in discipling their children and describes how biblical parenting will work.
